OurPlan for Ashfield & Eastwood

Ashfield is in my blood. I was born here, grew up here, worked down the mines here, and now I am lucky enough to represent Ashfield in Parliament as your MP.

Here in Ashfield, we've been taken for granted by former Members of Parliament and political parties for too long. I promise that I will never let that happen again.

That is why I have put together 'OurPlan' for Ashfield & Eastwood. I have spoken with thousands of local residents, listened to their priorities, and together we have created 'OurPlan'.

You can view each section of 'OurPlan' below, and see what I have been doing in support of each section.

With a clear plan for improvement, development and regeneration in Ashfield & Eastwood, the future is looking brighter than ever!

  • Transforming our Town Centres

I promised funding would come during the 2019 General Election, now the Conservative Government and I are delivering it.

£62.6 million has been secured from the Town Deal for Kirkby and Sutton Town Centres.

£6.2 million has also been secured from the Future High Streets Fund.

  • Slashing Crime & Antisocial Behaviour

364 new Police officers have been recruited in Nottinghamshire since 2019. And with the new Police, Crime and Sentencing Bill, our Police will have the powers they need to stamp out antisocial behaviour in our communities.

  • Tackling the Cost of Living

I understand anxiety over rising bills and inflation. The Government will continue to listen and ensure there are policies in place to help those who need it most.

  • Protecting our green spaces from development

We are so lucky to have beautiful green spaces in Ashfield.

Areas like Jacksdale, Selston, Teversal & Underwood need protecting from unnecessary and unsuitable developments being waved through by the Ashfield Independent controlled Ashfield District Council.
