Massive News For Ashfield.
Over the weekend I had a long chat with Local Government Minister Luke Hall MP who advised our £62 million Towns Fund bid had been approved.
This record breaking amount of investment (the highest in the UK) will transform our area and will focus on:
Urban regeneration, planning and land use.
Skills and enterprise infrastructure.
Digital and transport connectivity.
I said before the election that I would pester Government for cash and just two weeks ago I was at number 10 with the begging bowl asking for this cash and Government have delivered.
A big thanks to the Discover Ashfield Board and Officers at Ashfield District Council for their help and support on this.
This is what the PM means when he talks about levelling up. We are levelling up in Ashfield and I am extremely proud to be a part of it.
Remember this is a Conservative Government that has given Ashfield the biggest ever injection of cash which is on top of the £6.2m Future High Street fund and £1.5m Accelerated Towns Fund, a staggering £70 million in total.
I am also currently working on a multi-million pound bid for Eastwood and would hope to have some news on the bid later on this year.
